Jasmine/Mini Mogra Live Healthy Plant

Growing Jasminum sambac (mini mogra) in a pot is quite easy if you give it enough sun, well-drained soil, and regular pruning. It actually grows very well in containers.

1. Choose the Right Pot 🪴

• Size: Start with a 8–12 inch pot (bigger if plant is mature).
• Material: Clay/terracotta pots are best because they drain well.
• Drainage: Make sure the pot has 2–3 holes at the bottom to avoid root rot.

2. Prepare Good Potting Soil

Mogra likes light, well-draining soil.

Best mix:

• 40% garden soil
• 30% compost/vermicompost
• 20% cocopeat
• 10% sand

Optional: add neem cake powder to prevent pests.

3. Planting the Jasmine

1. Fill the pot with soil mix.
2. Place the plant gently.
3. Cover roots with soil and press lightly.
4. Water thoroughly after planting.

4. Sunlight Requirement ☀️

Mogra needs 5–7 hours of direct sunlight daily.

Best places:

• Balcony with sunlight
• Terrace
• Near a sunny window

Less sunlight = fewer flowers.

5. Watering 💧

• Water when the top soil feels dry.
• Usually every 1–2 days in summer and 3–4 days in winter.
• Avoid overwatering (roots may rot).

6. Fertilizing 🌱

Feed every 15–20 days.

Good options:

• Vermicompost
• Mustard cake fertilizer
• Banana peel fertilizer
• Liquid seaweed fertilizer

This helps produce more fragrant flowers.
