Pink oxalis (Oxalis triangularis) is quite easy to grow from bulbs/corms, and it does well in pots.
🌱 How to grow pink oxalis from bulbs
- Choose a pot
- Use a 6–8 inch pot with drainage holes.
- You can plant several bulbs together for a fuller plant.
- Prepare the soil
Use a light, well-draining mix:- 40% garden soil
- 30% cocopeat
- 20% compost/vermicompost
- 10% sand or perlite
- Plant the bulbs
- Place the bulb/corm about 2–3 cm deep.
- Keep the pointed/growing side upward if it is clearly visible.
- Cover lightly with soil.
- If planting multiple bulbs, keep about 5–7 cm spacing.
- Water
- Water thoroughly once after planting.
- Afterwards, water only when the top 2–3 cm of soil becomes dry.
- Avoid keeping the soil constantly wet because the bulbs can rot.
- Light
- Give bright indirect light or gentle morning sunlight.
- Around 2–4 hours of morning sun is usually good.
- Protect it from strong afternoon summer sun, especially in hot Indian weather.
- Temperature
- It grows actively in mild-to-warm conditions.
- During very hot weather, keep the pot somewhere bright but protected from harsh afternoon heat.
