🌿 Philodendron Brasil (Money Plant) – How to Grow in a Pot

Philodendron Brasil is an attractive, easy-growing trailing plant with green leaves and yellow-green patterns. It grows very well indoors, on balconies, or in hanging pots.

🪴 Pot & Soil

• Use an 8–10 inch pot with drainage holes.
• Use a loose, well-draining mix: 40% cocopeat + 30% garden soil + 20% compost + 10% perlite/sand.
• Avoid heavy, water-holding soil.

☀️ Light

• Give it bright indirect light.
• A little gentle morning sunlight is beneficial.
• Avoid strong afternoon sun, which can scorch the leaves.

💧 Watering

• Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feels dry.
• Water thoroughly until some water drains from the bottom.
• Don’t keep the pot sitting in water.

🌱 How to Make It Grow Bushier

• Pinch or trim the growing tips regularly.
• Plant several healthy cuttings in the same pot for a fuller appearance.
• Provide a moss pole or trellis if you want it to climb.

✂️ Propagation

1. Take a healthy stem cutting with 2–3 leaves and at least one node.
2. Place the node in water or moist cocopeat.
3. Keep it in bright indirect light.
4. Once good roots develop, transfer it to a small pot.

Keep it in a warm place, ideally around 18–30°C, and protect it from cold drafts.
