Mustard cake powder (also called mustard oil cake powder) is an excellent organic fertilizer for both indoor and outdoor plants. It is rich in nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium (NPK) and also helps improve soil microbes.
1. Liquid Fertilizer Method (Best for Indoor Plants)
This is the most recommended method because it reduces smell and prevents root burn.
Steps:
- Take 1–2 tablespoons mustard cake powder.
- Mix it in 1 liter of water.
- Keep the mixture in a container and soak for 24–48 hours.
- Stir well and strain the liquid.
- Dilute the liquid with 3–4 parts water before using.
- Water the plants with this solution every 10–15 days.

2. Soil Mixing Method (Outdoor or Large Pots)
You can mix it directly into the soil.
Steps:
