Neem Cake Powder is an organic fertilizer and pest-control soil amendment made from the residue left after extracting oil from neem seeds (from the Neem Tree, Azadirachta indica). It improves soil health, adds nutrients, and naturally deters many pests. 🌿
Below is how to use it for indoor and outdoor gardening.
🌱 1. For Indoor Plants (pots & containers)
Method 1: Mix into Potting Soil
When repotting plants:
- Mix 1–2 tablespoons neem cake powder per 1 kg of soil.
- Blend it well with potting mix before planting.
Benefits:
- Slowly releases nutrients
- Prevents fungus gnats and soil pests
- Improves microbial activity
Method 2: Top Dressing
For existing plants:
- Add 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon on the soil surface (depending on pot size).

Method 3: Neem Cake Liquid Fertilizer (Soil Drench)
- Add 2 tablespoons neem cake powder to 1 liter water.
- Soak for 12–24 hours.

Before Planting
- Mix 200–500 g neem cake per square meter of soil.
- Blend into soil 7–10 days before planting.
This helps:

- Reduce nematodes and soil pests
For Vegetable Plants
Add near plant base:
- 1–2 tablespoons per plant
- Mix into soil and water.
Repeat monthly.
For Trees or Large Plants
- Add 200–500 g around the root zone.
- Mix lightly with soil and water well.
Use every 2–3 months.
