Reetha (also called soapnut, botanical name Sapindus mukorossi) is a natural fruit widely used in Ayurveda for its cleansing and cosmetic properties. It contains saponins, which produce natural foam and act as a gentle cleanser.
🌿 How to Use Reetha
1. For Hair Wash (Natural Shampoo)
- Soak 5–6 reetha nuts (deseeded) overnight in 2 cups of water.
- Next morning, boil for 10–15 minutes until soft.
- Cool, mash, and strain the liquid.
- Use the liquid to wash your hair like shampoo.
2. For Hair Growth Pack
- Mix reetha powder with amla and shikakai powder.
- Make a paste with warm water.
- Apply to scalp and hair, leave 30 minutes, rinse.
3. For Skin Cleanser
- Mix reetha powder with rose water.
- Apply on face, gently massage, wash after 5 minutes.
4. For Washing Clothes or Jewelry
- Put 5–6 reetha nuts in a muslin cloth bag.
- Toss into washing machine or soak jewelry in reetha water.
- It cleans gently and is eco-friendly.
