bay leaf (Tejpatta in Hindi, from Laurus nobilis) is a very common spice in Indian kitchens and Ayurveda.
🍵 How to Use Bay Leaf
1. In Cooking (Daily Use)
- Add 1–2 dried leaves while cooking rice, pulao, biryani, curries, soups, or dals → enhances flavor + aids digestion.
2. Bay Leaf Tea (for digestion & diabetes)
- Boil 2–3 bay leaves in 1½ cups water for 5–7 minutes.
- Strain and drink warm.
- Optionally add a little honey or lemon.
3. For Cold & Congestion (Steam)
- Boil a handful of bay leaves in water.
- Inhale steam for 5–10 minutes to relieve blocked nose, cough, and chest congestion.
4. For Joint Pain (External)
- Bay leaf oil (or paste) can be massaged on joints to reduce pain and swelling.
5. For Skin & Hair
- Boil bay leaves in water, cool it, and use as a final rinse for hair → reduces dandruff and improves shine.
- Same water can be used to wash face to reduce pimples and acne.
