Peepli long (also known as Pippali / Long Pepper / Piper longum). It’s a traditional Ayurvedic herb and spice.
🍵 How to Use Peepli Long
1. As a Spice
- Can be used like black pepper in curries, soups, and pickles.
- Gives a sharp, earthy, slightly sweet flavor.
2. Pippali Powder
- For digestion & immunity:
Mix ½ teaspoon powder with warm water, honey, or milk once daily. - For cough & cold:
Take with honey and ginger juice.
3. Decoction (Kadha)
- Boil 3–4 sticks of long pepper in 2 cups water → reduce to 1 cup.
- Strain and drink warm for cough, asthma, or congestion.
4. With Ghee or Honey
- Peepli powder + ghee or honey is a traditional way for boosting strength, immunity, and stamina.
5. In Ayurveda Formulas
- Part of Trikatu (Pippali, Black Pepper, Dry Ginger) → improves digestion and metabolism.
- Added in herbal tonics like Chyawanprash.
