🥭 What Is Amshi (Dried Mango Slice)?

  • Amshi is made from unripe green mangoes that are peeled, sliced, salted, and sun-dried until completely dehydrated.
  • When dried, the slices become leathery, brownish, and intensely sour.

👩‍🍳 How to Make Amshi at Home

Ingredients:

  • Raw green mangoes (firm and tart)

Method:

  2. Slice thinly (about 3–4 mm thick).
  3. Sprinkle salt lightly and mix well.
  4. Sun-dry the slices on a clean cloth or tray for 3–5 days (or until completely dry and brittle).
    • Bring them indoors at night to avoid moisture.
  5. Once fully dried, store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
