Using whole dried Arjuna chaal (bark) — Terminalia arjuna — is a traditional Ayurvedic
🌿 1. Arjuna Kwath (Decoction / Herbal Tea)
This is the most traditional and effective way.
Ingredients:
- 5–10 grams of dried Arjuna bark (about 1–2 medium pieces)
- 2 cups (400 ml) of water
Method:
- Break the bark into smaller pieces (if possible).
- Rinse it quickly under clean water to remove any dust.
- Boil it with 2 cups of water in a stainless steel or clay pot.
- Let it simmer until the water reduces to about 1 cup.
- Strain and drink warm.
Dosage:
- Drink once or twice daily, preferably on an empty stomach in the morning or at bedtime.
- You can add a bit of honey or jaggery for taste (optional).
☕ 2. Arjuna Milk Decoction (Arjuna Ksheer Pak)
This version is gentler and more nourishing, especially for those with acidity or weak digestion.
Ingredients:
- 1 tsp crushed Arjuna bark
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup water
Method:
- Mix milk, water, and crushed bark in a saucepan.
- Boil and simmer until the liquid reduces to about 1 cup (half of the original volume).
- Strain and drink warm.
Dosage:
- Once daily, preferably at night.
💧 3. Soaked Water (Mild Daily Use)
If you prefer a lighter form.
Method:
- Take a small piece (2–3 inches) of Arjuna bark.
- Soak it overnight in 1 glass of water.
- In the morning, strain and drink on an empty stomach.
This version is mild but effective for long-term daily use.
🌸 4. Powder (If You Can Grind It)
You can also grind the dried bark into a powder.
- Take 1–3 grams (½ tsp) daily with warm water or milk.
- You can mix it with honey or ghee if desired.
