This name is commonly used for Tecomella undulata (also called Rohida in Rajasthan, Rohitak in Ayurveda). It is a valuable and timber tree, considered the state tree of Rajasthan. Some places also call it “Desert teak.”

🌱 How to Plant Rohida Tree

1. Climate & Soil

   • Best suited for arid and semi-arid regions (Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana).

   • Grows well in sandy or loamy soil, even in desert conditions.

   • Needs full sunlight.

2. Propagation

   • Usually grown from seeds.

   • Seeds are collected in summer (April–May) when pods dry.

   • Soak seeds in water for 12 hours before sowing for better germination.

3. Planting

   • Sow seeds in polybags/nursery beds, then transplant after 2–3 months.

   • Plant spacing: about 3–4 meters apart if growing for timber.

4. Watering & Care

   • Drought-tolerant once established.

   • Water only in the first 1–2 years until roots are strong.

   • No need for heavy fertilizers—compost or cow dung is enough.
