lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus)—
Planting Lemongrass
A. From Stalks / Cuttings
- Choose healthy stalks: Use fresh, green lemongrass stalks with a bit of root base if possible.
- Prepare water rooting:
- Place the stalks in a glass of water.
- Keep in sunlight for 2–3 weeks until roots develop.
- Transfer to soil:
- Use a well-draining potting mix or garden soil.
- Plant rooted stalks 1–2 inches deep.
- Sunlight: Needs full sun (6–8 hours/day).
- Watering: Keep soil moist but not waterlogged.
B. From Seeds
- Seeds germinate slowly; stalk propagation is faster and more reliable.
