1. Materials Needed

• Onion seeds (for microgreens)
• Shallow tray with drainage holes
• Seed-starting soil or a mix of potting soil and compost
• Spray bottle for watering
• Light source (sunny windowsill or grow light)

2. Steps to Grow

1. Prepare the tray
   • Fill the tray with 1–2 inches of soil. Flatten it gently.
2. Sow the seeds
   • Sprinkle onion seeds evenly across the soil surface. They can be a little dense but avoid overlapping too much.
3. Cover lightly
   • Sprinkle a thin layer of soil on top or gently press seeds into soil. Some growers just leave them on top.
4. Water gently
   • Use a spray bottle to moisten the soil without washing away seeds.
5. Provide light
   • Place in a sunny spot (4–6 hours/day) or under a grow light.
6. Keep soil moist
   • Mist daily to keep soil damp but not waterlogged.
7. Harvest
   • Onion microgreens are usually ready in 10–14 days, when they are 2–4 inches tall.
   • Cut just above the soil line with scissors.
