🪴 1. Light

  • Ideal: Bright, indirect sunlight.
  • Avoid: Direct sunlight — it can scorch the leaves.
  • Tip: A spot near an east or north-facing window is perfect.
  • If your room is dark, use a grow light for a few hours daily.

💧 2. Watering

  • Keep the soil evenly moist, not soggy.
  • Water when the top 1 inch of soil feels dry.
  • Use room-temperature water (cold water can shock the roots).
  • In summer: Water 2–3 times a week.
  • In winter: Reduce watering to about once a week.

⚠️ Avoid overwatering — soggy soil leads to root rot.

🌡️ 3. Temperature & Humidity

  • Temperature: 18–27°C (65–80°F).
  • Humidity: Golden Ferns love high humidity (60–80%).
  • Mist the leaves 2–3 times a week or use a humidifier or pebble tray.

🌱 4. Soil

  • Use a well-draining potting mix that retains some moisture.
    • Mix suggestion:
      • 2 parts peat moss or coco peat
      • 1 part perlite
      • 1 part compost or loam
  • Ensure the pot has drainage holes.

🌼 5. Fertilizer

  • Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced liquid houseplant fertilizer (e.g., 10-10-10 diluted to half strength).
  • Stop fertilizing in winter when the plant’s growth slows down.

✂️ 6. Pruning & Maintenance

  • Trim off brown or yellow fronds at the base.
  • Gently wipe or mist leaves to remove dust.
  • Repot every 1–2 years when roots start crowding the pot.
