🌿 How to grow Golden Thuja in a pot

1. Choose the pot

• Start with a 12–16 inch pot with several drainage holes.
• As the plant grows, shift it to a larger pot, around 18–24 inches.
• Avoid pots that hold water at the bottom.

2. Soil mix
Use a light, well-draining mix:

• 40% garden soil
• 30% cocopeat
• 20% compost/vermicompost
• 10% sand or perlite

3. Sunlight

• Give it around 4–6 hours of sunlight daily.
• Morning sunlight is especially good.
• In very hot weather, some afternoon protection can help prevent leaf scorching.

4. Watering

• Water thoroughly when the upper 1–2 inches of soil feels dry.
• Don’t keep the soil constantly wet.
• During rainy periods, reduce watering and make sure excess water drains quickly.

5. Feeding

• Add a small amount of compost/vermicompost every 6–8 weeks during active growth.
