🪴 How to Grow Mahogany in a Pot
- Pot: Start with a 10–12 inch pot having good drainage holes; move to a larger pot as the plant grows.
- Soil: Use a loose, well-draining mix of garden soil, compost, and cocopeat or coarse sand.
- Sunlight: Give it around 6–8 hours of sunlight daily.
- Watering: Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil becomes dry. Avoid keeping the soil constantly wet.
- Fertilizer: Add a small amount of well-decomposed compost every 1–2 months during active growth.
- Pruning: Remove dry or weak branches and lightly shape the plant when needed.
- Repotting: Shift it to a bigger container when roots begin filling the pot or growth slows.
- Important: Mahogany eventually becomes a large tree, so container growing is mainly suitable while the plant is young. For long-term growth, planting it in open ground is preferable.
