Brahmi in a pot is quite easy once you understand that it’s a water-loving, semi-aquatic herb.
🌱 1. Choosing the Right Pot
- Use a wide, shallow pot (6–10 inches deep).
- Ensure it holds moisture well (plastic or ceramic works better than terracotta).
- You can even place the pot on a tray filled with water—Brahmi loves constant moisture.
🌿 2. Soil Mix
- Use loose, water-retentive soil:
- Garden soil + compost + a little sand (2:1:1)
- Soil should stay consistently damp, not dry.
💧 3. Watering (Most Important!)
- Keep the soil always moist or slightly waterlogged.
- You can:
- Water daily, OR
- Keep the pot in a shallow water tray (best method)
- Never let the soil dry out—this is the most common mistake.
☀️ 4. Sunlight
- Needs partial to full sunlight:
- 3–6 hours of sunlight daily is ideal.
- In very hot areas, give afternoon shade to prevent leaf burn.
