The Zebra Haworthia (scientific name: Haworthiopsis attenuata) is a small, hardy succulent—great for beginners and indoor spaces.
🌿 Light Requirements
- Prefers bright, indirect light
- Can tolerate some direct morning sun, but avoid harsh afternoon sunlight (can scorch leaves)
- If indoors, place near an east- or south-facing window
💧 Watering
- Follow the “soak and dry” method
- Water thoroughly until it drains out
- Let soil dry completely before watering again
- Usually:
- Summer: every 2–3 weeks
- Winter: once a month or less
- Overwatering is the #1 cause of death ❗
🌱 Soil
- Use well-draining cactus/succulent mix
- You can improve drainage by adding:
- Sand
- Perlite
🌡️ Temperature & Humidity
- Ideal temperature: 18–26°C (65–80°F)
- Can tolerate slightly cooler temps but avoid frost
- Normal room humidity is fine
🪴 Potting
- Use pots with drainage holes
- Terracotta pots are great—they help soil dry faster
- Repot every 2–3 years or when it outgrows the pot
