Monstera deliciosa indoors in a pot is pretty straightforward if you match its tropical preferences.
🌿 Light
- Prefers bright, indirect light (near a window but not harsh sun).
- Can tolerate low light, but growth slows and leaves may lose their iconic splits.
- Avoid direct midday sun—it can scorch leaves.
💧 Watering
- Water when the top 2–3 inches of soil feel dry.
- Keep soil slightly moist, not soggy.
- Reduce watering in winter.
- Yellow leaves = overwatering; droopy/dry leaves = underwatering.
🪴 Soil & Pot
- Use well-draining soil (mix of potting soil + perlite + bark is ideal).
- Pot must have drainage holes.
- Repot every 1–2 years as it grows.
🌡️ Temperature & Humidity
- Ideal temperature: 18–30°C (65–85°F).
- Loves high humidity (above 50% if possible).
- Mist leaves occasionally OR
- Use a humidifier OR
- Place near a tray of water with pebbles
